Recent legislation in the Island has built a system of human rights upon the existing sound basis of natural justice, with the result that businesses and public bodies are under increasing pressure to become more sensitive to human rights in relation to their activities.
We are able to provide advice to public bodies and to the organisations they oversee on the exercise of powers by those public bodies and their responsibilities. We can help organisations challenge abuses of power by petition of doleance, which is a broadly similar remedy to judicial review in English law. |
